Hosted in Ottawa by CCI’s co-founders Jim Balsillie and John Ruffolo, Canada's CEO Summit gathers Canada's top chief executives for three days of unrivalled networking, dealmaking, and advice sharing about building powerful companies and securing long-term economic prosperity for Canada. You’ll be in great company with our curated guest list of entrepreneurs, change makers, and innovators from across Canada’s vibrant tech sector.
Programme
Canada’s CEO Summit starts with an evening cocktail reception on September 26 at the historic Fairmont Château Laurier, followed by ten private dinners at Ottawa's top restaurants. Wednesday begins with a networking breakfast, then a full day of insightful discussions and audience Q&As. In the evening, the conversation continues with a parliamentary reception and a group dinner. Thursday provides the chance to engage in advocacy meetings on Parliament Hill. Join us in Ottawa for an unforgettable experience.
Connect with Scale-Up Leaders from Across Canada
CCI has traditionally organized a biennial summit of Canadian technology CEOs in Ottawa. In the past, CCI has gathered CEOs in Ottawa for significant advocacy meetings and discussions with policymakers in the federal government. This year, we are making exciting changes to the format to emphasize CEO leadership, scaling for success, and fostering a stronger sense of community among Canada's innovation leaders.

Forty years ago, the traditional production-based economy embarked on a shift towards a knowledge-based economy, and more recently, into a data-driven economy. This transformation reshaped Canada - and the world. What was once characterized by open, shared science, trade liberalization through tariff reductions, and a patent system rewarding genuine inventions, has given way to a landscape of closed science, closed markets, and the monopolization of knowledge and information.
Who better to unpack these economic and technological changes, and understand Canada’s position within this evolving global innovation landscape, than Jim Balsillie, retired Chairman and co-CEO of Research In Motion (BlackBerry), a technology company he scaled from an idea to $20 billion in sales globally. Jim is the co-founder of the Institute for New Economic Thinking in New York, the Council of Canadian Innovators, and the Digital Governance Council.
In conversation with David Rozin, Head of Roynat/Scotiabank's Technology & Innovation Banking group, Jim’s wealth of experience and insights will provide invaluable perspectives on Canada's role in the evolving landscape of global innovation. You won’t want to miss this innovation economy forecast as you make your own plans for the years ahead.
